Burka and Engle was formed in 1991 by Sharon Burka and Tom Engle. From the outset, we decided to specialize and accept only cases pending in the Criminal Division of D.C. Superior Court.
In almost 20 years of practice, we have handled hundreds of cases, from first degree murder to the most petty offense. We also have a strong appellate practice and have argued dozens of cases in the D.C. Court of Appeals.
